Bentley ProjectWise

Is a software application that manages project drawings and other project data; and facilitates project collaboration between LA DOTD and consultant project team members. Consultants will be required to use this software when specified in the contract.  In some cases, consultants may be required to upload or download project files via ProjectWise regardless of any contract requirement. 

ProjectWise Explorer Client V8i (Series 1) Edition

ProjectWise Explorer is an ideal platform for managing drawing storage, security, workflow, editing, viewing, searching, comparing and upload/download. ProjectWise resolves many file management challenges.  The ProjectWise Explorer application is provided free of charge for consultants working on LA DOTD projects.  The Bentley Passport License required to run ProjectWise will be the Consultants responsibility to purchase.  This Passport License must be managed on-site using Bentley Select Server or must be hosted and managed by Bentley with their Select Server product.

You will need to download, extract (keeping all files in one folder), and execute the Setup Wizard.  Upon successful completion of the Setup Wizard, execute the ExternalPWiseV8iNetwork.reg file:

ProjectWise Explorer Client Workstation System Requirements

Component	Requirement
Processor	1 GHz x86 or x64 processor or better
Memory	512 MB of RAM
Hard Disk	500 MB of free hard disk space for installation, and an additional 500 MB of free hard disk space is recommended if the user's working directory (where checked out and copied out documents are downloaded to) is to be kept on the same computer.

Network	Windows networking configured for the TCP/IP protocol (IPv4 or IPv6)
Software Prerequisites	Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 - required for Microsoft Office 2007 integration, and for ProjectWise Session File Manager in integrated AutoCAD 2004 and higher. DirectX 9.0c - required to install the VPR viewer and the Spatial Extension of ProjectWise Explorer. A supported DGN reference scanning engine - required if this installation of ProjectWise Explorer will be used to scan for DGN master documents, their references, and link sets.

License	Requires a ProjectWise Passport license.
