Title VI Program Unit
The mission of the Title VI Program is to ensure that no person be excluded from participation in,
denied benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving federal financial
assistance from the U.S. Department of Transportation on the grounds of race, color, age, sex, disability or national
origin. The role of this office is to interpret Title VI laws and regulations, provide technical assistance where
needed, and to establish agency-wide policy for compliance.
Program focus areas include:
- Limited English Proficiency (LEP)
- Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
- Providing technical assistance to all program and field offices.
- Training on Title VI laws and regulations to all program field offices.
- Process and investigate Title VI complaints of discrimination.
